The aluminum rod AWS ER 5183 is an alloy which contains from 4.3 to 5.2% of magnesium as the main element in its composition. This magnesium added to the aluminum confers the alloy high mechanical resistance, keeping a good resistance to the corrosion. This alloy also contains manganese, which provides a better mechanical resistance. Recommended for the naval industry, railroad equipments, cryogenic tanks and under pressure. Recommended for high mechanical resistance and corrosion.
